A Magnificent Life
I went to see this film a few weeks ago at the Ciné Lumière screen at the Institut Français du Royaume-Uni.
This is the first time I've been to this screen. It's tucked away round the back of South Kensington underground, not too far from Exhibition Road and the Natural History Museum.
The film was made by Sylvain Chomet.
A previous film dates back to the 1990s and featured a vague story about a cyclist and some musical triplets and a large dog...
This one tells the story of the dramatist, film-maker and author Marcel Pagnol.
This was a very rare screening in the UK. You will struggle to find it on the big screen, but it is recommended. The structure worked very well.
