Jan 17: Talking Pictures TV and Encore
You can watch Talking Pictures TV on Virgin 445, Freesat 306, Freeview or Youview 81 or on the Sky digital satellite platform, channel 328.
You may need to retune your box or TV to add the channel, and may also need to retune from time to time.
It has an excellent range of vintage films on most days, and on Friday evenings, Caroline Munro introduces a range of classic horror films including those made by Hammer. I've been able to catch snippets of films over the last few weeks but not been able to sit down to watch a whole film on here for a while. That will change inevitably.
The channel has now been joined by a website where films can be viewed on demand, called Encore. This is being added to all the time, with TV series and old films and is a sort of catch-up as well as on demand service similar to BFI in terms of offering some of the more obscure films which may not be included with iPlayer etc.
