Apr 23: Fenland on Film

I am pleased to see the growth of activity on the Fenland on Film Facebook page, developed by film- maker Drew Berry.

He shares his own films that he has made and also curates other films as well as pursuing rare films with a Fenland connection.

Drew kindly helped my son with one of his degree projects and agreed to be interviewed.

There are some famous films set in the Fens, which make a lot of the mysterious locations.

Penda's Fen is one of those films.

There is also a film called 'The Flood' featuring a number of locations in and around Ely. It was made in 1963.

Drew was present at the Boat Race in 2021 when it took place on the River Great Ouse and filmed on 16mm film.
