Jul 22: Visit Scotland - film tourism
Each of the UK's home nations has a dedicated website which connects film making with tourism. As mentioned earlier, there is a growing interest in visiting the locations where popular films are made.
Visit Scotland has flagged up the locations of many films.
There's a special section of the website. There are several film maps to download as PDFs.
Here's five Scottish film facts, for example:
Films I watched today:
Inn for Trouble (1960) dir. C. M. Pennington-Richards
A b/w film which was a spin off of the Larkins apparently.
Blood on Satan's Claw (1971) dir. Piers Haggard
A creepy horror film, set in 17th-century England. Chaos strikes a small village after a farmer discovers the remains of a demon that had been buried under the ground. The creature's claw has supernatural powers and takes control of the minds of various members of the community. The young people who are possessed soon start sacrificing their neighbours to the monster. Will anybody be able to break the spell of the fiend once and for all.
