Aug 3: Fun with Google Earth

Over the years, Google Earth has got involved in some film-related fun by temporarily adding fictional locations and information to its mapping. There have also been layers added to Google Maps as well to tie in with particular films and computer games.

One example was the addition of Skull Island as an 'Easter egg', which has been mentioned in a separate blog post. Skull Island is the home of King Kong.

They have previously added Google Street View of the Batcave and Bruce Wayne's residence and also created an 8-bit version of their mapping.
