Sep 24: Up (2009) dir. Pete Docter

Up was made by Pixar during a period where they could really do no wrong. I saw it at the Princess Theatre in Hunstanton with all the family one weekend.

We had been warned from the beginning that this was going to start with an emotional sequence featuring the main character and so it turned out to be.

A key character is the Scout with his desire to earn his final missing Explorer badge.

There is an explorer who disappeared some years ago, based on explorers of the period, including Amundsen, who travelled over the North Pole in a blimp. The talking dogs, the snipe and the various chase scenes are excellent. And Paradise Falls, modelled on Angel Falls in Venezuela.
